We Watched A Thing

The one that started it all. Just two blokes talking. About movies. Mostly. And sometimes TV. Or music. With beer.

The show began its life in November of 2017 - when two mates, Billy and Topher thought that a short, animated movie review show would be a fun undertaking. This simple idea was concocted with a total disregard for how much time it would take Billy to do the animation. Instead, convinced that the rest of the world would surely be as easily amused by them as they were, and with little thought as to what they were doing, they hit record and the uncomfortably named “Bears on Film” podcast was born. 21 episodes later, the show was unceremoniously renamed, “We Watched A Thing”. Roughly 200 episodes after that, Topher made the difficult decision to step back, and Billy made the even more difficult decision not to.

Following an exhaustive, worldwide talent search, Billy was joined by Dave, and now here we are. Enjoy it, world. We’re here for you.

What’s in the tin?

Well, there’s movie reviews, obviously. We cover most new releases, unless they’re directed by Baz Luhrmann. And will always be honest. Always. Painfully, painfully honest. Just ask all the Nolan fanboys whose noses are still out of joint over our Tenet review.

We also like to mix it up with occasional top ten episodes, hidden gem spotlights, and whatever else takes our fancy.
